Hello fellow bird lovers!

My name is Larry Jordan. My wife Brigitte and I have been living in Northern California for over 30 years now. We live on 40 acres of rolling hills with our menagerie of animals ranging from dogs and cats to goldfish and goats. We moved out here to get closer to nature and “get back to the land”.

We live at an altitude of 1600 feet in zone 7, commonly known as the “Digger Pine Belt”. The landscape is rolling hills with lots of oak trees and pines but large open spaces as well. We have a pair of breeding red tail hawks on our property and every year they provide many hours of enjoyment as we are able to observe them through the season from breeding to teaching their fledgling(s) to soar!

We have been very fortunate to have been able to observe: Bald Eagles, Cooper’s Hawks, Red Tailed Hawks, Northern Harrier Hawks, Ferruginous Hawks, Osprey, American Kestrels, Turkey Vultures, Roadrunners, California Quail, Wild Turkeys, Mourning Doves, Rufous-sided Towhees, Hutton’s Vireos, Several Warblers, Several Flycatchers, Several Sparrows, Bewick’s Wrens, Western Bluebirds, Townsend’s Solitaires, American Robins, White- breasted Nuthatches, Red-breasted Nuthatches, Several Finches, Plain Titmice, Screech Owls, Pygmy Owls, Burrowing Owls, Great Horned Owls, Barn Owls, Canada Geese, Snow Geese, Mallard Ducks, Western Tanagers, Black-headed Gross Beaks, Lazuli Buntings, Violet -green Swallows, Tree Swallows, Barn Swallows, Anna’s Hummingbirds, Rufous Hummingbirds, Northern Flickers, Acorn Woodpeckers, Black Phoebes, Scrub Jays, Steller’s Jays, Yellow-billed Magpies, American Crows, Common Ravens, Black Capped Chickadees, Mountain Chickadees, Western Meadowlarks, and Red-winged Blackbirds.

We have always been in love with the natural beauty and peace that birds bring into our lives. We want to share that peace with everyone in the hope that it will bring people more in touch with nature and themselves. We created this website to give you as much information as possible to be able to attract birds into your yard and into your life. Wherever you live there are birds that you can attract to your living space and many ways to observe their interactions.

We hope you enjoy what we have here for you. Our promise is to have only top quality information and supplies for you. Your satisfaction is our primary concern. Everything we offer is 100% satisfaction guaranteed! If you’re not happy, we’re not happy. So look around and be secure in the knowledge that if it’s not right, we will fix it! You have my word on that.

Sincerely,
Larry Jordan
Your Backyard Birdman
